Usher brought a female fan onstage during Saturday’s Nashville performance. The concert was part of The R&B Tour with Chris Brown. The singer began serenading the woman while performing his signature seductive routine. However, her reaction suggested she felt increasingly uncomfortable.
Usher lightly touched the woman’s chin and face while continuing his performance. He then attempted to get her to recline on an onstage bed. However, she stiffly moved backwards instead of following his lead. Usher then appeared to realise she did not want to participate.
“I don’t think she want to be on the stage, huh?” Usher asked the audience. He eventually stepped away and waved back towards the back of the stage. The gesture appeared to signal that crew members should remove the fan. Some audience members reportedly booed as she left.
The fan later addressed the criticism over her decision to go onstage. “First off NOBODY is declining to go on stage,” She wrote on social media. She explained that she and her mother originally had floor seats. The pair reportedly moved into the VIP section before the concert began.
“They don’t say who you’re going up there for!” she wrote. The fan also questioned whether critics expected her to engage sexually with Usher. She later posted a selfie with the caption, “Unbothered ?.” Her posts showed she remained defensive about the unexpected interaction.
