Donald Trump just dropped a massive Gaza announcement that nobody expected. The president revealed a sweeping new peace agreement involving multiple nations and a dramatic shift in the region’s future.
Donald Trump says the Board of Peace agreement would fully disarm Hamas
President Donald Trump announced on Thursday that the Board of Peace reached a historic agreement for Hamas’ complete disarmament.
The deal also covers all other armed groups operating in Gaza. Trump revealed the diplomatic breakthrough through a Truth Social post on Wednesday. Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey served as mediators alongside Trump’s Board of Peace team. The agreement will pave the way for a new Palestinian government in Gaza.
“Today, the Board of Peace reached a HISTORIC agreement for the COMPLETE DISARMAMENT of Hamas and all other armed groups in Gaza,” Trump stated. He further called it “a monumental step toward lasting PEACE and SECURITY.” The deal represents a major milestone in implementing Trump’s 20-Point Plan framework.
Trump introduced the 20-Point Plan last year to end the war and rebuild Gaza. The multiphased disarmament agreement marks a critical step toward new governance. Gaza will “no longer” serve “as a base for terror attacks” under this deal. A new “police force” will also be established with “International Stabilization Force” support. This force will keep the region safe for residents and neighboring areas.
Israeli forces will withdraw from the region as disarmament progresses through structured phases. Trump praised his administration’s progress since the October 7, 2023 Hamas-led assault on southern Israel.
“One year ago there was a violent raging war, humanitarian crisis and hostages kept in brutal captivity,” Trump said. He added, “The threat that emerged from Gaza on October 7 will NOT be allowed to rebuild!” Trump also confirmed that Gaza will finally be governed by a Palestinian government that serves its “PEOPLE.”
Trump thanked the mediators for their important efforts in reaching the breakthrough. He specifically praised his team, “whose tireless work made this historic breakthrough possible.”
