Dorinda Medley says The Golden Life is different from RHONY and marks a new era. She said fans can expect surprises and see the RHONY stars show their real selves on the new show. Medley shared her thoughts during the Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip 20th anniversary celebration.
Dorinda says ‘The Golden Life’ shows the RHONY alums enjoying life together
Dorinda Medley opened up about the new show, The Golden Life, in an exclusive interview with Us Weekly. She said, “It doesn’t compare.”
While talking about her RHONY co-stars appearing on the new show, she said the stars have been “authentically themselves.” That’s the only thing that makes the two shows alike; otherwise, The Golden Life is an entirely different concept.
Medley said she and fellow cast members Sonja Morgan, Kelly Killoren Bensimon, Luann de Lesseps, and Ramona Singer are “friends off camera and on camera.”
She said, “We’re just enjoying all being back together. It’s a great time to celebrate this time of our life. We’ve sort of seen it all. Done it. It’s like my book’s coming out in December. It’s called, I Know a Thing or Two About a Thing or Two, and I think that’s these women at this age. We’ve learned a lot, and we can show the world that it is fabulous to be 60 and just be blossoming. Just getting started.”
Medley also dismissed rumors of bad blood between the cast members during the RHUGT event.
She said, “All this bulls*** that the ‘The girls don’t want anything to do with the new New York Housewives.’ You know how there’s all these things coming out that there’s some sort of — There’s zero rivalry!”
While talking about the new show, she described it as a “totally different show” from RHONY. She said, “I mean, listen, these are girls that are 20, 30 years younger that are living completely different lives in New York. We all have a story to tell. Theirs is about their life, you know, what they’re doing now with marriage and husbands and children.”
The Golden Life is set to premiere on E! this fall. The show features former The Real Housewives of New York cast members.
