Kristi Noem’s Alleged Lover Is Making a New Play for Donald Trump’s Attention — Report

Corey Lewandowski is reportedly plotting a return to Donald Trump’s inner circle. The former campaign manager lost his White House access when Trump fired Kristi Noem as Homeland Security secretary in March, but he is allegedly now using certain tactics to make his way back.

Corey Lewandowski’s comments about John Thune suggest how he may try to regain political influence

Multiple Republican sources confirmed to the New York Post that Kristi Noem’s alleged lover, Corey Lewandowski, wants to repair his standing with the president. One GOP strategist summarised the effort: “Corey is looking for ways to get back in good with President Trump.”

Lewandowski reportedly chose Senate Majority Leader John Thune as his vehicle. In late June, he told conservative podcaster John Fredericks that Thune faces vulnerability back home. “John Thune, who happens to be up for re-election — not this November but two years from now — is very susceptible to a very serious Republican primary challenge,” Lewandowski said.

He then described the type of candidate who might mount that challenge, pointing to someone with “a proven history of winning an election in South Dakota.” Multiple sources read that as a reference to Noem, who served four terms in Congress before winning the governor’s office in 2018.

Corey Lewandowski paired the Thune broadside with a push for the SAVE America Act, which would require proof of citizenship for voter registration. Donald Trump has championed the legislation. Thune has said the bill lacks the votes to pass the Senate, frustrating the president and creating an opening Lewandowski appears eager to exploit.

When The Post reached him for comment, Lewandowski said, “President Trump carried the state of South Dakota by nearly 30 points. The people of that state overwhelmingly support his agenda for America. No politician is immune to the will of the voters.”

Moreover, the outlet sources further claim Lewandowski’s consulting firm, Lewandowski Strategic Advisors, depends heavily on his access to Trump. One source alleged the former “values that relationship more than anything else.” Another confirmed he “dines out” on having the president’s ear.
