On August 7, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended the event celebrating 40 years of fundraising for the David Foster Foundation, showing their support for their longtime friend, David Foster. For the date night with husband Prince Harry, Meghan Markle wore a pair of diamond-and-sapphire earrings that belonged to Princess Diana (via PEOPLE). The earrings were the duchess’ way of paying tribute to her late mother-in-law. She paired the piece of jewelry with a black one-shoulder draped dress by Canadian designer Greta Constantine. Leaning into her signature glam, the Suits star wore her hair pulled back into a neat bun, with warm blush, a smoky eye, and a nude glossy lip.
Harry matched his wife in a classic black tuxedo, complete with a bow tie. The couple posed on the red carpet with David Foster and his wife, Katharine McPhee. Meghan and Harry have been friends with the music producer for a long time. Foster arranged for the couple’s getaway at a mansion on Vancouver Island in 2019. Moreover, Meghan attended the same school as McPhee when they were teens.
In September 2025, Meghan sported the late Princess’s Cartier Tank Louis watch to Kevin Costner’s One805Live! charity event (via Parade). The Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended the event in Santa Barbara to present the Heart of the Community Award to the County Fire Department’s Peer-to-Peer mental health program on behalf of their Archewell Foundation.

Per Vogue, she also honored her mother-in-law at her wedding in 2018 by wearing her iconic aquamarine ring. Further, she wore Diana’s diamond cross necklace when she and Prince Harry went to Nigeria in 2024 for the Invictus Games. Diana had sported a similar necklace in Nigeria during her visit in 1990.
