Bobby Bones finally got his Dancing With the Stars trophy back after a public feud. The prize returned after Tom Bergeron apologized for comments that hurt Bones’ feelings.
Bones celebrated with a smiling Instagram photo on August 7. He captioned it, “Look what just came in the mail.”

Bones won DWTS season 27 alongside professional partner Sharna Burgess. Years later, Bergeron’s comments about that victory reopened an old wound.
Bergeron had described Bones’ victory as surprising during a previous interview. The former host later clarified his meaning during an emotional BobbyCast conversation.
“I felt terrible,” Bergeron told Bones during the March episode. He explained that he meant surprise rather than a shocking elimination.
“I wish I had said, ‘Well, this wasn’t a shock, but it was a surprise when Bobby Bones won,’” Bergeron added.
Bones said Bergeron’s words hurt because he had always loved and respected him. The comments prompted Bones to send his trophy back to ABC.
“I got my feelings hurt,” Bones told Us Weekly in May. “I love Tom, and so, in a haste, I sent my trophy back to somewhere at ABC.”
“I like that trophy,” Bones said. “If anybody’s watching this that has my Mirrorball trophy, please mail it back to me.”
After Bergeron apologized, Bones seemed ready to put the awkward chapter behind him. The trophy’s return finally gave the DWTS winner another reason to smile.
Fans noticed one curious detail in Bones’ celebratory photo. A small card rested against the trophy and asked, “Run it back?”
The card also displayed number 35, matching the upcoming DWTS season. Neither Bones nor the series confirmed that he would return. Still, fans immediately wondered whether the message hinted at another television appearance.
