Jon Batiste has unexpectedly canceled several upcoming tour stops, leaving fans in three states without scheduled performances. The Grammy-winning musician cited personal circumstances for the decision but did not provide additional details about what prompted the last-minute changes.
Jon Batiste has canceled upcoming concerts in Pennsylvania, New York and Connecticut due to personal circumstances
According to People, Batiste has canceled upcoming performances in Pennsylvania, New York and Connecticut. Organizers originally scheduled the affected shows for New Haven, Connecticut, on August 13, Philadelphia on August 14 and Forest Hills, New York, on August 15.
In a statement shared by the venues, Batiste explained that he needed to step away from part of his schedule because of “personal circumstances.” “As I navigate some personal circumstances, I unfortunately need to cancel a portion of my upcoming performance dates,” he said.
The singer also assured fans that refunds would be issued through the original point of purchase. He thanked supporters for their patience and said he looks forward to returning to the stage soon.
Batiste added that he and his team are continuing the rollout of his new albums, Monk Meditations and Monk Movements. He said the team is exploring new ways to share live music with fans as the albums are released.
Neither Batiste nor his representatives have provided further details about the personal circumstances behind the cancellations.
Despite the canceled dates, Batiste’s official website still lists several performances for next week. He currently plans to perform in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, on August 20, Vienna, Virginia, on August 21, and Atlanta on August 23. This indicates that the cancellations have only affected part of his current tour.
For now, fans affected by the canceled concerts will receive refunds, while those attending later dates can continue to monitor Batiste’s official tour schedule for any additional updates.
