Paris Jackson is opening up about one of the most personal moments of her life. During a candid podcast appearance, the singer and model reflected on the first time she met her mother, Debbie Rowe, at age 15. Despite years apart, Paris said the introduction felt surprisingly natural.

Paris shared the memory during an appearance on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast. The host Alex Cooper asked what it was like meeting Rowe for the first time. “I remember coming downstairs, and she was in the living room with my grandma,” Paris recalled. “I came in, and I was just like, ‘Hey, Mom.'”
When Cooper asked whether she immediately called Rowe “Mom,” Paris confirmed that she did. “I sat down, we talked for a second, and then we went out for the day and just like hung out,” she said.
According to Page Six, Paris also reflected on why the meeting felt so comfortable. She joked that their matching fire signs helped create an instant connection. “She’s a Sag, so she’s got the fire, and I’m an Aries, so I got the fire,” Paris said. “We’re very similar.”
She added that approaching relationships without expectations has shaped many of her experiences. “I think what’s really cool about my process… is learning how expectations kind of f— us up,” she explained. Without expectations, she said, relationships have more room to develop naturally instead of being weighed down by disappointment or resentment.
Rowe married Michael Jackson in 1996 and welcomed son Prince in 1997 and daughter Paris in 1998. The couple divorced in 2000, and Michael received full custody of the children. Paris did not meet Rowe until she was 15.
Elsewhere in the interview, Paris also reflected on her unconventional childhood with Michael, Prince, and her younger brother, Bigi. She said wearing masks in public as children allowed them to enjoy everyday activities without attracting attention. “It made sense,” she explained, recalling family outings where they could “go to Chuck E. Cheese and be normal.”
Paris also remembered her late father as a devoted parent with a playful side. She described Michael as “a really funny guy” and said he affectionately called her his “little princess.”
Over the years, Paris has occasionally shared glimpses of her relationship with Rowe. Reports first surfaced in 2013 that the pair had begun bonding, and earlier this year they reunited for a rare selfie together.
