Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have faced intense scrutiny since their “fairytale” 2018 wedding. An expert says their relationship has likely endured significant strain. As they near a decade since their first date, questions about their future continue to grow. During a recent Royal Exclusive discussion, host Matt Wilkinson revisited Harry and Meghan’s relationship.
Experts predict if Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s marriage will last another decade
The couple first met at Soho House in 2016 and have now been together for nearly a decade. Wilkinson questioned whether the Duke and Duchess of Sussex remain happy together and whether their marriage could last another decade. The question comes after years of major changes for the couple. Harry and Meghan went from a highly publicized royal romance to their 2018 wedding before stepping away from royal duties and building a new life in California.
Guest Bronte Coy acknowledged that public interest in the couple remains strong. “Their brand is built upon this couple that’s so in love,” Coy said during the discussion, noting that the couple have also spoken publicly about their relationship over the years. “I think that the truth of it has to be somewhere in the middle where they have their ups and downs,” she explained.
Despite the speculation surrounding the Sussexes, Coy said people close to the couple have given her a different impression. “I’m told that they are very in love. They are very much a team,” she said.
However, she also acknowledged the enormous pressure Harry and Meghan have faced since their wedding. Coy argued that those experiences would naturally place pressure on any marriage. “They’ve clearly hit massive struggles, and they’ve been under massive strain on the world stage over the years,” she said.
Coy suggested that the contrast between their early romance and later challenges makes their future difficult to predict. “Some marriages can survive anything,” she said. She argued that much will depend on the period of change the Sussexes are currently experiencing and how they navigate it together. “They’re in such a period of, I think, change at the moment and evolution,” Coy explained. “I think it really depends.”
