Ryan Culberson is opening up after a deeply personal family rift became a major storyline in Real Housewives of Orange County.
The controversy began during the July 30, 2026 episode of RHOC. Here, Vicki Gunvalson’s son, Michael Wolfsmith, revealed details about the family disputes.

He said that he had not seen his sister Briana Culberson in eight years and had met only two of her four children.
After the episode aired, Wolfsmith addressed fans’ comments on Instagram and provided more information about the family rift. He revealed that he had never been invited to Briana and Ryan’s home in Oklahoma. He also said that Briana had once discouraged his visit because Ryan was not comfortable with him.
Days later, Ryan made two cryptic social media posts that RHOC viewers interpreted as indirect responses. Although he didn’t mention Vicki, Michael, or Briana, his comments were interpreted as subtle replies. He posted, “No one can use my past against me. I’ll sit at the table, look you in the eye, and tell my story from beginning to end – no edits, no filters.” He added, “I own every mistake, every failure, every scar I picked up along the way.”
Ryan continued, “I’ve already faced the darkest chapters of my life and made peace with them. They don’t control me anymore – they built me. What’s tea for you is my testimony. What you whisper about, I’ve already survived!” He ended the message with, “I am not ashamed of where I’ve been. I’m proud of how I made it out.”
He later posted a shorter follow-up: “DON’T LET WHACK PEOPLE MESS WITH YOUR DOPE ENERGY!” “Protect your energy like your future depends on it. STAY BLESSED!” he added.
The emotional responses have created renewed interest in Briana’s decision to step away from Bravo. Vicki said her daughter “wants nothing to do with the show” and added that “what the show did to their family was not good.”
