Harry, 41, joined Meghan, 45, at the David Foster Foundation’s 40th anniversary gala at the Victoria Conference Centre in Canada on Friday, August 7. The charity supports Canadian families whose children need life-saving organ transplants. During the event, photographers captured Meghan leaning toward Harry and placing a hand on his chest. Harry, meanwhile, maintained a more reserved stance beside his wife.
A source familiar with the couple said Meghan has always been comfortable showing affection in public. She reportedly holds Harry’s hand, touches his arm, or leans into him while posing for photographs. “Harry is affectionate too, but he’s generally less interested in making a big display of it when cameras are around,” the source said, per OK! Magazine. The insider added that “they simply have different ways of presenting themselves in public.”
According to the source, Meghan tends to reach for Harry instinctively, while the Duke becomes more formal when photographers surround them. “Meghan is much more touchy-feely and instinctively reaches for Harry,” the insider explained. By comparison, Harry reportedly pays closer attention to his posture during formal appearances. “He’s more conscious of posing at these formal events, and is certainly far less interested in PDAs than Meghan,” the source claimed.
Body language expert Judi James also analyzed the couple’s appearance and said Meghan appeared more affectionate toward Harry. She said Meghan leaned against Harry’s chest and placed her hand on him while looking at the cameras, suggesting that Meghan wanted to emphasize their closeness. James also pointed to Harry’s closed-mouth expression and lighter touch on Meghan’s back as signs that he appeared more reserved and showed less affection than his wife.
