Prince Harry Accused of ‘Weaponizing His Pain’ Against Royal Family — Source

Prince Harry faced renewed criticism over claims that he turned private pain into a public battle with the royal family. The Duke of Sussex and Meghan Markle stepped back from their senior royal duties in 2020. Since then, their interviews, Netflix series, and his memoir, “Spare,” have kept the family dispute in the spotlight.

A new report claimed Harry’s disclosures made family reconciliation harder and brought old wounds back into public view. The report also alleged that the Duke of Sussex was accused of “weaponizing his pain” after years of publicly criticizing the monarchy.

Prince Harry accused of turning his personal hurt into ‘public battle,’ per source

According to a RadarOnline report, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped away from their royal roles in 2020, before pursuing financial independence in the United States. The outlet reported that a royal source claimed Harry had taken “deeply personal pain” into “the public arena.” The insider added that every interview and revelation made repair “more difficult,” turning “private hurt” into part of “a very public battle.”

Meanwhile, royal commentator Sarah Vine criticized the Sussexes while reflecting on what she described as their “decade of drama.” She accused the couple of showing “a complete lack of emotional intelligence,” and having a “weapons-grade sense of entitlement.” Speaking specifically about Harry, Vine claimed that he “slammed the door” when the royal family needed him and attempted to “burn the place down” as he left royal life. She also argued that the couple remained “insulated in their bubble of privilege” and failed to recognize “how thoroughly charmed their existence is.”

However, the report also highlighted Harry’s explanation during his 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey. The Duke of Sussex said, “I was trapped,” without realizing it. He also claimed his father and brother were “trapped” and were unable to leave.

Still, another royal source cited in the report argued that critics viewed the disclosures differently. The insider said that repeatedly airing grievances had only “prolonged the dispute.” Ultimately, the debate centered on whether speaking out encouraged healing or further extended the conflict.
