Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump were reportedly house hunting in Malibu at the same time that Jared’s younger brother, Joshua Kushner, announced his $12.5 billion deal to buy the Los Angeles Lakers with Bob Iger.
The couple was recently spotted dining at Nobu Malibu with Secret Service agents. According to Page Six, their visit also included tours of several high-end homes currently on the market.
Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump reportedly tour luxury Malibu homes after Joshua Kushner’s $12.5 billion Lakers deal
The Malibu property search took place during the same week that Joshua announced the Lakers deal. It remains unclear whether Jared would have any role in the team’s new ownership group.
Jared and Joshua have worked together on business ventures before. The brothers founded Cadre, a financial platform for commercial real estate investing, in 2014. Yieldstreet acquired the company in 2024. They also co-owned a real estate entity called JK2.
Joshua and his wife, Karlie Kloss, have their own Malibu property. The couple purchased Harry Gesner’s Wave House near Leo Carrillo State Park for $29.5 million in 2024.
Jared and Ivanka have lived in Miami for several years. They purchased a $30 million lot on Indian Creek in 2020. The private island is also home to Jeff Bezos, Lauren Sanchez, Mark Zuckerberg, Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen.
Indian Creek has 29 residences and its own police force. Bezos owns three properties on the island, including one he purchased for $90 million in 2024.
Page Six also reported that former Vice President Kamala Harris moved from Brentwood to an $8 million mansion in Malibu’s Point Dume.
A representative for Jared and Ivanka did not comment on their reported house hunting in Malibu.
Iger discussed the Lakers deal with The California Post and said the transaction came together quickly.
“We were involved in pursuing the new franchise in Vegas… And while that happened, it was suggested to us that maybe Mark Walter would be interested in selling his stake in the Lakers. And we immediately decided that given the value of the franchise and the iconic nature of the team, that we would be really smart to pursue it. The deal came together in three days.”
