Book reveals how King Charles reacted to ex-Prince Andrew’s invitation to the Beckhams

Ex-Prince Andrew Mountbatten Windsor allegedly invited David and Victoria Beckham to the Buckingham Palace for their daughter, Harper’s sixth birthday. The former footballer wanted to ensure that the occasion was memorable, but it quickly attracted criticism from people, including then-Prince Charles who was allegedly “seismic with rage.”

Alison Boshoff wrote this about Charles’ reaction in her book “Brand Beckham”, according to Express. She noted that David Beckham had posted a series of photos from the celebration on Instagram. Alongside a photo of himself hugging Harper in one post, he wrote, “Happy Birthday to our special little young lady …Such a special girl who brings so much joy and happiness into our lives.. Happy 6th birthday ( I can’t believe your 6 already ) have the most amazing day we love you pretty lady x.”

One of the photos showed Harper in the quadrangle of the Buckingham Palace alongside her friends. Meanwhile, inside the Palace, Princess Eugenie had posed with the kids who were dressed in princess costumes. Some of them had also been wearing cardboard crowns.

In her book, Alison wrote that the Beckhams had not arranged the party at the Palace themselves. Instead, then Prince Andrew had hosted at it in his private apartment, thanks to an invitation to the Beckhams from his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson. An insider from the Palace had reportedly described the posts as a “serious breach of protocol”.

“Prince Charles is apparently seismic with rage and this will only deepen his feud with Prince Andrew. Photos are absolutely not allowed in the Buckingham Palace quadrangle,” the source claimed. “Prince William will not be amused.” Allegedly, Ferguson only escaped the royals’ wrath because the late Queen Elizabeth was in Scotland at the time.
