Princess Anne is reportedly trying to bring Prince William and Prince Harry closer to reconciliation. According to Heat World, Anne has been encouraging William to put his personal grievances aside and consider the effect the feud is having on King Charles, who is continuing to receive treatment for cancer.
The reported intervention comes at a difficult time for the royal family. Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly considering a return to the UK with their children, Archie and Lilibet. This could put Harry and William in closer proximity after years of estrangement. Harry has also reportedly made progress in rebuilding his relationship with Charles following their meeting at Highgrove last month.
William and Harry’s relationship has remained strained since Harry stepped away from royal duties. The brothers have reportedly had little direct contact in recent years.
According to the insider, Anne believes the responsibility for the rift cannot be placed entirely on either side. “Anne says everybody in this situation shares some of the blame, not just the Sussexes and not just the Waleses, and in her view they all need to be brought into line and told that this nonsense has gone on far too long,” the insider said.
The source claimed that Anne is frustrated by the conflict because of its effect on the family and the King. “The reputational fallout the entire family is suffering because of this immaturity is simply unacceptable, especially when the King is still ill, and he’s repeatedly asked both of his sons to find a way through this,” the insider noted.
The insider also added, “In her view, for two grown men to be fighting, sulking and getting bent out of shape over every little thing when they should be treasuring every moment they have left with their father, and showing him proper respect is appalling.”
