The undisputed boxing champion Claressa Shields may have won Olympic medals, but she still has one wish on her bucket list. The self-proclaimed “GWOAT” has made a public plea to Beyoncé to accompany her to the ring before she hangs up her boots.

Speaking to TMZ Sports, Shields appealed directly to the “Single Ladies” singer. “Beyoncé, listen, baby girl. Before I retire, I need you to walk me out,” Shields said. “You pick the song, and only perform 30 seconds, one minute, whatever you decide.”
The champion continued, “Before I retire, I need Beyoncé to walk out the greatest woman of all time, and that’s my only request. I won’t ask you for nothing else. I won’t even ask you for a picture if that’s not what you want.”
The plea comes shortly after Shields defeated Kaye Scott in a knockout win. The 31-year-old boxer said that retirement is not on her radar right now, as she intends to fight until 38.
Shields has little left to prove in her domain. She became the first American boxer, male or female, to win back-to-back Olympic gold medals. Shields captured titles at the 2012 London Olympics and the 2016 Rio Games. She has since then been an undisputed champion in multiple weight divisions. Shields is widely regarded as one of the most accomplished female boxers in history.
Her remarkable career and rise from Flint, Michigan, have been documented in the 2024 biographical film “The Fire Inside”. The documentary follows her rise and journey to Olympic glory.
Despite being decorated with all the possible honours, the boxer still wants Beyoncé by her side to mark it as one of the highlights of her career. The boxer has been using the nickname “Greatest Woman of All Time” and believes a ring entrance with the Halo singer will be a fitting addition to her legacy.
Shields may have ticked off a lot of goals in her career trajectory, but clearly has one big wish to fulfill – sharing the stage with Beyoncé.
