Supermodel Brooke Shields revealed that she didn’t really have a “love story” with JFK Jr., just a “crazy, crazy crush.” Shields used the opportunity of a fan’s question to set the record straight about one of the most scrutinized eras of her romantic life during a live episode of Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.
80s icon Brooke Shields reflects on her relationship with JFK Jr. and talks about Love Story
Shields answered a fan question on her romantic past with Kennedy Jr. and her thoughts on the Love Story series that dramatizes the tragic life of JFK Jr. and Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy in her characteristic, candid manner.
On the romantic front, Shields confirmed that she didn’t have a sweeping romantic saga, but rather just an intense “crush” on JFK. She added saying that they dated but never slept together, and was unsure whether “that counted”.
However, Shields recalled that episode of her life fondly, saying that despite the lack of intimacy, “he really was lovely to me”.
On the question regarding the series, Shields confirmed that she had watched Love Story from “start to finish” and absolutely loved it. She highly praised the series for the portrayal of JFK Jr.’s relationship with Carolyn, noting that it made their dynamic “make sense” and that she appreciated the entire production.
In a surprise twist, Shields revealed that her daughter had worked on the production of the Love Story series as a Production Assistant. In the series, Paul Anthony Kelly’s portrayal of John F. Kennedy Jr. tells Sarah Pidgeon’s Carolyn that he once shared a kiss with Shields, despite the two never having dated.
The famous Brook Shields and JFK Jr. romance began with an unforgettable Aspen ski trip date where JFK delivered what Shields called the “best kiss” of her life. However, she was quick to guard her heart and halted the romance before it became a full-blown relationship.
