According to a source, the monarch wishes for the long-standing Royal Family rift to finally end, and he had faith that this move would be “good” for the family. The report came just days after Harry, Meghan Markle, and their two children, Princess Lilibet and Prince Archie, along with their pets, made their return to Britain.

King Charles reportedly saw Prince Harry and Meghan Markle moving back to the UK with their kids as a strategic move. An insider told The Daily Beast that one of the monarch’s friends revealed that the Duke of Sussex was “informally encouraged” by his father to come back to the UK because he believes “the royal family is stronger united.” The friend further noted, “The king’s faith has played a part, but ultimately this is a strategic decision for the good of the family.” According to them, there needs to be a resolution to the “stand-off.”
Simultaneously, questions about whether Prince William felt comfortable with Charles‘ decision to let Harry and his wife re-establish themselves in the UK still hovered. However, according to the King’s friend, the “top priority” for him was William and the monarchy’s future. Charles believes the Prince and Princess of Wales were an asset to the monarchy and that he is “immensely proud” of them.
Meanwhile, another source told The Royalist that Charles’ decision to have Harry and Meghan back in the royal fold was intentional. “If the king didn’t want Harry and Meghan here, they wouldn’t be here,” the individual said. According to the source, “The king clearly wants them to be happy and settle here, and he and his staff are doing nothing to obstruct that. It’s a huge opportunity for Harry and Meghan to start again.”
