There was a time when Heather Gay and Lisa Barlow’s complicated friendship was something that Real Housewives of Salt Lake City fans couldn’t stop talking about. But let’s face it, it’s gotten a bit tired. Years of accusations and arguments, and it always seems to circle back to the same place. And their clash on The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip has put the spotlight on the fact that this feud has definitely run its course.
In fact, Heather and Lisa bringing their Salt Lake City baggage to a party of women who have no investment in their history just proved that the feud has become exhausting. And the other women aren’t afraid to say so.
When even the Housewives around you are basically telling you to drop it, it’s probably time to take the hint.
The latest chapter in Heather Gay & Lisa Barlow’s RHOSLC feud
It appeared as though Lisa had planned on leaving her issues with RHOSLC out of the Ultimate Girls Trip. However, Heather clearly didn’t get the memo. The pair had a very contentious RHOSLC reunion, and the subsequent fallout spread far and wide. Lisa appeared not to dwell on that during RHUGT. She seemed too focused on having a good time.
But trust Heather not to make that easy for her. Viewers noticed that Heather began immediately poking and pushing Lisa during RHUGT (sometimes even off-camera). She seemed like she was intentionally trying to bait Lisa into acting out.
Unfortunately for Heather, her plan backfired, and everyone just thought she was attacking Lisa for no reason. “Me trying to jump through the TV when Heather started antagonizing Lisa,” wrote @datlife808 on X.
@SalvaCambranes added, “Heather walks up to Lisa and immediately gaslights her, my goodness.”
And the Housewives seemed to agree. Heather forgot that, this time, she and Lisa weren’t surrounded by the women who have spent years witnessing their RHOSLC back-and-forth. After seeing things go down at the party, Housewives like Kyle Richards and Porsha Williams thought that enough was enough.
Of course, Lisa’s new bestie, Real Housewives of New Jersey OG, Teresa Giudice also had her back. As we’ve seen in a preview for the RHUGT finale, Tre says, “I don’t know if you had too much to drink in Atlanta, but you were very mean to her.”
In fact, the support Lisa got from the girls (even Gizelle Bryant, who kind of intentionally stirred the pot) seemed to back Heather into a corner. In the end, the question wasn’t who was right. It was why Heather and Lisa were still having the same fight at all.
These reactions just reinforce the fact that this ongoing feud needs to conclude. At this point, there isn’t much left to say anymore. RHUGT highlighted that their dynamic feels less like must-see drama and more like an argument that has overstayed its welcome.
Which isn’t to say Heather and Lisa need to become friends again. Sometimes walking away is healthier. There comes a point when viewers (and castmates) stop wondering who’s right and start wondering why the fight keeps going. Maybe it’s time to stop. Lisa and Heather don’t need another chapter in this feud. They need an ending.
