Donald Trump criticized Meghan Markle and Prince Harry after they moved to the UK. The Telegraph shared a video of the US President addressing the media in the Oval Office. One reporter asked him to share his opinion on the Sussexes leaving California. Without hesitating, the politician immediately responded, “I am happy about it.”
As his reply made the crowd laugh, Trump poured out his thoughts, criticizing Markle for “disrespecting” the royal family. “I was not a fan [of Sussexes],” he said. Furthermore, he claimed to have a “very good relationship” with the late Queen Elizabeth II.
“I got to know her very well. A really good relationship with King Charles,” Trump added. He also mentioned that the monarch is a “great” person and that he has known him since the king was a prince. After giving a glimpse of his dynamic with the crown, Trump shared his opinion about the Sussexes.
He said, “I thought that [Markle and Harry] treated the Royal Family with great disrespect. I didn’t like it.” Moreover, Trump called out Markle for the “way she acted.” “I thought she was terribly disrespectful to the [late] Queen, to King Charles. And, I don’t know, maybe I am different. I wouldn’t have taken them back, frankly,” he concluded. Meanwhile, Markle and Harry arrived in the UK last week with their kids. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex would reportedly live at a private residence and would continue as non-working royals.
