The Sussexes, as per multiple reports, arrived in Birmingham from California on August 26 and are expected to remain in the UK for an extended period. Harry and Meghan will reportedly be staying at a private, non-royal residence during their time in the country.

Property expert Saif Derzi explained why Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s reported decision to rent a new home in the UK could be a smart move. According to the founder of Property Buyers Today, renting would allow the Sussexes to determine whether they can genuinely adjust to life in the UK over the long term.
Notably, the couple is reportedly planning a six-month trial in the UK while retaining their homes in Montecito and Portugal (via Daily Express). Derzi told the outlet: “Given the amount of travelling Harry and Meghan do and the possibility that their plans could change, I think renting is a much more realistic option than immediately purchasing a multi-million-pound property.”
“A high-end rental would give them the privacy and security they need, while allowing them to test out an area without making a long-term commitment,” the expert added.
The Sussexes reportedly plan to reside in the Cotswolds for privacy and because of its proximity to King Charles’ residence in Gloucestershire (via Hello). Interestingly, the Duchess of Sussex has reportedly made some demanding requests for their new home.
Sources close to the Daily Mail revealed that the former actress wants nine bedrooms, matching the number of rooms in her lavish $16 million Montecito property. Markle also reportedly wants a home studio where she can film content and work on her lifestyle brand, As Ever, while based in Britain.
A source explained that Markle would most likely end up producing “home-making content” in the UK “because that is the heart of who she is.” Meanwhile, Harry reportedly wants a “lot of land” with “no footpaths going across it to protect their privacy.”
