Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s reported return to the U.K. may have come down to a stark choice for the Duchess of Sussex. According to a source, Harry was so determined to spend more time in Britain that he gave Meghan an ultimatum. This sharp ultimatum left her facing a difficult choice about their future.
Prince Harry’s ultimatum to Meghan Markle convinced her to move to UK, per source
According to Heat World, the decision reportedly followed Prince Harry’s growing unhappiness with life in the U.S. and his desire to spend significantly more time in Britain. “Harry basically told Meghan, ‘Move back with me, or it’s over,’” the source claimed.
The insider said Harry planned to spend substantial time in the U.K. even if Meghan chose not to move with him. The source also claimed that “Harry has always wanted his children to have a British education, and it became one of the driving forces behind the decision to move.”
The couple and their children have reportedly settled into a non-royal countryside residence, with the children allegedly set to start at a new school soon. In 2020, the couple chose to take a break from their royal duties, and they relocated to California. Recently, Meghan reportedly felt nervous when Harry spent time with his family members without her.
“For Meghan, going with Harry became the better option,” the source said. “She felt she would have far more control over the situation if they did this together, rather than Harry flying back and forth alone and potentially rebuilding those relationships with his family without her.”
“But Meghan’s fear is that she’ll come back and somehow end up in the same situation she was in before. Harry has promised her that this time is completely different. They aren’t working royals. They intend to control their own lives and their own narrative,” the source added. The reported ultimatum may have driven Meghan’s decision, but she is said to be looking forward to launching her brand in the U.K.
