The Traitors: New Blood introduced a cast of everyday Americans who appeared ready to embrace the game’s ruthless side.
The new trailer featured 22 civilian contestants competing for up to $250,000 under host Alan Cumming. One player, who identified herself as a mother, delivered one of the trailer’s most memorable declarations when she joked about using the competition to step outside her usual role.

In The Traitors: New Blood trailer, the contestant explained why the game offered her a different kind of experience.
“Being a mother, maybe I want to step outside of my comfort zone and, um, kill a few folks,” she said.
Her remark referred to the show’s central game, where selected Traitors secretly “murder” Faithful players as contestants tried to identify the hidden deceivers.
Other members of The Traitors: New Blood cast also shared the strategies they planned to use inside the castle. One contestant planned to hide her profession as an astrophysicist, while another said her “Golden Retriever energy” could disguise a more mischievous side.
A criminal defense attorney also planned to apply professional instincts to the competition.
“As a criminal defense attorney, I want to run this castle like a criminal defense,” the contestant said.
Another player made her intentions even clearer.
“The name of the show is called ‘Traitors.’ I get to stab people in the back,” she said.
Cumming opened the preview by emphasizing what separated this edition from previous seasons of The Traitors.
“For the first time, I am opening my castle doors to ordinary Americans,” he said. “Because when nobody knows who you are, you can get away with anything.”
The Traitors: New Blood marked the U.S. franchise’s first all-civilian edition. Its 22 contestants ranged in age from 23 to 65 and worked in fields including medicine, law, real estate, teaching and aviation.
Cumming previously said the civilian format could raise the stakes because the prize money might make a greater difference in the contestants’ lives.
NBC and Peacock planned to premiere The Traitors: New Blood with two episodes on September 17.
