90 Day Fiance Star Sumit Singh Is Scared Of Getting Married To Jenny Slatten After Previously Arranged Marriage

While 90 Day Fiance itself is wild, 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way is a whole other ballgame. Americans fall in love with people overseas and uproot their lives to follow love in a new country. And one of the show’s most explosive couples by far is Sumit Singh and Jenny Slatten.

Sumit and Jenny’s relationship started off with lies. Sumit was catfishing Jenny. Even when she found out he wasn’t who he was portraying himself to be online, she decided to stay with him. The lies continued when Jenny found out Sumit had gotten married through an arranged marriage while they were together. Still, that wasn’t enough for her to leave him for good. He got divorced, but his family is not a fan of their 33-year-old son falling in love with a 62-year-old woman. Sumit’s mom even threatened suicide if the couple followed through with the marriage. And while dealing with culture shock, the coronavirus, and a laundry list of problems, somehow they’re still determined to be together. Now, apparently Sumit’s mom is even living with the couple. Oy vey.

In a recent interview with Us Weekly, Sumit revealed he’s pretty terrified of the thought of getting married again. Despite his promises to Jenny that it will happen someday. “If you talk about marriage, I don’t have a very good experience with marriage in the past,” Sumit said. “The fear is still there in my heart, in my mind, somewhere, but I know the person I’m living with is nice.” Jenny, there’s no excuse for you to keep ignoring these massive red flags. Girl RUN.

Even though he’s “still scared” to get married, Jenny just wants to be Sumit’s wife once and for all. “I would like [a traditional Indian ceremony], but it doesn’t really matter to me. Just marrying Sumit is the main thing, and that’s what will make me the most happy,” Jenny said. Sumit, on the other hand, isn’t very fond of the idea of having another big Indian wedding, considering he’s already been there, done that with his first wife.

Jenny continued to say she will feel “more confident” being Sumit’s wife, as well as the legal aspect. While they aren’t married, Jenny is forced to leave India every six months to renew her visa. “Once I get married, I’ll be able to stay in India,” Jenny said. “I’ll take care of that and then, plus, I’ll have rights to do things.” If you’re shaking your head reading this, I’m right there with you. Jenny is going to spend the rest of her life waiting for this man to sort out his clearly complex family issues to commit to her.

And to make matters even MORE COMPLICATED, the pair talked about a future with children. While neither is jumping at the chance to start a family, Sumit said adoption is something he’s interested in down the line. If he ever actually walks down the aisle with Jenny. The 62-year-old, however, isn’t as excited. “No children,” Jenny said. I don’t blame her whatsoever. At least she has some firm line in this whole thing.
