Heather El Moussa Explains Why She Stormed Out Of Selling Sunset Season 4 Finale After Christine Quinn Arrived

Season four of Selling Sunset gave us everything we deserved. Heather El Moussa almost floated away her head was so high in the clouds for Tarek El Moussa. Her HGTV Zaddy. Christine Quinn not only brought us new mom energy, but kept up her HBIC reign with the other Oppenheim women. We were also introduced to our newest character, Emma Hernan, who had quite the history with Christine prior to filming.

In case you missed it, Christine and Emma used to date the same man. At the same time. According to Christine, her relationship with this guy lasted about 2.5 years. Her time with him ended after finding him in a gym parking lot holding hands with Emma. Christine claims she confronted the couple who became engaged just 2-months after the fiasco.

Emma claims that Christine went wild during the confrontation, including blocking the car and banging on the windows. Emma shared her version of the story with the entire Oppenheim group over a dinner. Christine retorted in a confessional, “At the end of the day, I’m much classier than Emma. Unlike her, I don’t feel the need to drag our history in front of coworkers.”

Is that so? Christine didn’t miss an opportunity to bring Heather into this entire dating debacle. She made mention, later in the season, that Heather also dated this mystery man. W O W. After getting called out for her double standard, Christine claimed she only dragged Heather into this mess for the show. Whether that’s true or not, this gave Heather and Emma an opportunity to bond over their twisted dating history.

In the season four finale episode, things went completed haywire between Christine and Heather. The party, which was meant as an opportunity for Jason Oppenheim to announce his newest office in Orange County, took quite the turn. Christine came several hours late to the event, leaving her coworkers questioning whether she would come at all. True to form, once she arrived, the show got interesting.

Heather shared her side of what happened at the Oppenheim party in an interview with Entertainment Tonight. She explained, “[Christine] disregarded the fact that we were all waiting for her, I was waiting for her specifically.” Heather was hoping to use the finale party as a gateway to confronting Christine for her lies about her previous relationship timelines. Heather also wanted to confront Christine for bringing her in to the mix with regards to this shared ex-boyfriend.

“She completely brushed me off and she’s like, ‘I’m good. I’m good.’ And I’m like, ‘If you’re good, I’m good, too.’ She wanted to mend a friendship with me, and the relationship. She showed me she didn’t care. So I’m good. I’m going on my vacation with my future husband, at the time, and so a lot had led up to that frustration. It wasn’t like I just had a freak-out and left,” Heather continued.

As Heather left the party, Tarek called Christine “useless.” At the same time, Christine tried asking Heather if she was interested in chatting one on one. Heather refused to acknowledge Christine’s offer, and left with her fiancé instead. Heather rationalized this saying, “At that point, I already felt disrespected. I had been waiting for three hours for her. And then when she brushed me off, I was like, you know what? I don’t need to wait around and be late and miss my flight on my trip with my husband. So at that point, I was just done. She had disrespected me already.”

Heather and Tarek seemed like they definitely needed a vacation after this scene. Tarek continued to call Christine an asshole and say she should feel embarrassed by her actions. Heather continuously tried to remind him that they were being filmed. Later Heather claimed, “In that moment when I was heated and upset, we did not actually know the cameras were on us.”

“Then I turned around and I saw that they were filming us,” Heather continued. “So just as a reminder to protect my husband, I said, ‘The cameras are on us. The cameras are on us.’ He is a very strong-minded person. And if he sees that his wife is upset about something, he’s going to support me 100 percent, no matter what, as I would do for him. But it is a very different show [than he’s used to filming]. I don’t want him involved in the toxicity of the show that can happen and the drama. He doesn’t need to be a part of that. It’s girls drama and it’s just, he needs to stay away from that.”

Heather further defended her fall out with Christine. She said, “You only see so much of our lives on camera. We all have lives outside of camera and outside of filming. And it had been a lot of things building up, and her and I had not had a close relationship for probably over a year. And there’s just a lot of things that she had said and done to not only me and my husband, and talking s**t and just things to my close friends that I just, at some point, you can’t keep supporting someone and making excuses for them and being the neutral person.”

Christine’s decision to bring Heather’s personal history on camera is where things really deteriorated for these two. “She had brought some things up on camera to the other girls and had called some of the girls off camera and said, ‘I’m going to drag Heather into this and I hope you have my back,'” Heather revealed.

“There was a lot of things that I didn’t say on camera and you guys are not informed about. She basically dragged me into her drama just to bring me into her and Emma’s drama that is so irrelevant in my life. So at that point, I’m like, ‘Why are you doing this? Why are you bringing stuff up that is so far in the past, just to cause issues with me?'” Honestly, I don’t think it was defensible, but I do think Christine knows how to make some good TV.
