There isn’t much you can hide from the Sister Wives fan base. And with all the negativity going on within the Brown family, it is exciting to hear some good news for a change. It was revealed earlier this week that Aspyn Brown is expecting her first child. Here’s what we know.
Sister Wives star Aspyn Brown is pregnant
Eagle eye, Sister Wives fans, including myself, were pleasantly surprised to see Aspyn interviewing on her local news station. She is currently the manager of the Kendra Scott store in the City Creek Center, located in Salt Lake City, Utah. The 30-year-old looked pretty far along in her pregnancy journey as she shared some fun gift ideas for Mother’s Day. Viewers watched as Aspyn cradled her growing belly while wearing a blue floral sundress. The reporter commented, “And how fitting that you have your first little one on the way!” as Aspyn smiled and said, “I know!”
For now, the Sister Wives clan has kept quiet about the newest addition. Aspyn hasn’t been as public about her private life as some of her other siblings. Mykelti Brown, who lives in the same town, already had three children: Avalon, Ace, and Archer. So it is safe to assume Aspyn will have a lot of playdates lined up when her bundle of joy arrives. This will be Aspyn and her husband, Mitch Thompson’s, first child. Neither has publicly commented on the news as of yet.
When did Sister Wives’ Aspyn Brown meet her husband Mitch Thompson?
Sister Wives viewers learned that Mitch and Aspyn had known one another for years before deciding to court. During an earlier episode, Kody Brown noted that Mitch was a longtime friend of the family. Aspyn had grown up with Mitch while in Utah, and both attended the same church. The patriarch that Aspyn even had a crush when they were school-aged. The duo lost touch after Kody relocated the family to Las Vegas. But fans first met Mitch when he was introduced during Season 13 as Aspyn’s fiancé.
Aspyn told People, “We were raised in the same church group, and I had a little crush on him. We went in different directions until a rally some of my family attended in Utah, where we both happened to be. My dad’s brother asked what ever happened between us, which was nothing, because neither of us did anything about it. So I decided to call him.” Mitch proposed in 2017, and the pair married in June 2018. Mitch and Aspyn then honeymooned in Scotland and Ireland before heading back to Utah to set up their life.
What is Aspyn Brown doing now that she’s no longer on Sister Wives?
Per Aspyn’s LinkedIn she graduated from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 2019 with a degree in marriage and family therapy/counseling. For the last four years, she has worked as the store manager for Kendra Scott. She has also volunteered for Autism Speaks and the Alzheimer’s Association. However, Aspyn last appeared on Sister Wives in 2019, during Season 13. After nine years, Aspyn decided the spotlight wasn’t for her. But fans have been able to catch glimpses of Aspyn at family gatherings. Aspyn attended her mother’s wedding, her sister’s wedding, and the funeral of her brother, Garrison Brown. Just like her siblings, she also has a fractured relationship with Kody. Recently, the patriarch revealed he sat down with Aspyn and they had a serious chat.
During the most recent Sister Wives episode, the father of 18 rehashed his conversation, sharing, “Aspyn and I had this long discussion. What did I do? Why don’t you like me? She confronted me, which for Aspyn meant something’s wrong.” According to Kody, “Aspyn literally asked why I didn’t like her,” he explained on the episode. “And I’m like, ‘Sweetheart, I love you. And I always have and always will.’” There is still no word on whether Kody will be allowed to play the part of grandpa.
