Federal prison won’t stop Todd Chrisley and Julie Chrisley from returning to television. Lifetime picked up a new show following the Chrisley Knows Best family in their new chapter, with their kids trying to keep things afloat. It should come as no surprise at all that the producers are working on a way to incorporate the incarcerated parents into this show.
Todd and Julie Chrisley will call in from prison for new Lifetime reality TV show

Earlier this week, Lifetime confirmed they greenlit an untitled Chrisleys project. It will show Savannah Chrisley and Chase Chrisley trying to carry on the family “legacy.” They’ll both serve as executive producers for the series.
The synopsis explained, “The family faces a critical point in their lives that will either make the family bond stronger or leave it shattered forever. This series delivers an unfiltered, deeply personal look at their journey and introduces the real Chrisleys as they navigate this new chapter.”
But what would a Chrisley show be without Todd and Julie? According to TMZ, the producers behind the Lifetime series are working on having them featured on the show. The only issue is that cameras aren’t allowed inside the prison.
The production insider said the current plan is to capture audio from their prison phone calls with their children. They’ll use those audio recordings to give Todd and Julie a small presence on the show. Unfortunately, that means we won’t get to see them showing off their fabulous orange jumpsuits.
Although we won’t see Todd and Julie’s faces on the first season of this show, Savannah is working around the clock to try to get her parents released from prison. If things go according to plan, perhaps we’ll see them walk out of jail in Season 2.
Chrisley Knows Best is streaming on Peacock, and their new series comes to Lifetime later this year.
