When Sister Wives patriarch Kody Brown married his fourth wife Robyn Brown, he experienced a love he’d never felt before. Apparently, he told host Sukanya Krishnan on the Sister Wives One-on-One Special airing May 25, “he wanted to raise every wife up to that level and share the same experience [with them].”
“Would have been nice if he’d communicated that,” ex-wife Janelle Brown responded. But she also believes that’s “revisionist history” on Kody’s part. “He never talked about that with me.”
Whereas Janelle just laughed off Kody’s ridiculous claim, Meri Brown had stronger feelings. “I don’t think that’s fair for him to even say,” Meri told Suki. “We’re all supposed to be Robyn? I’m sorry, I am Meri. I’m not going to be Robyn.”
Is Sister Wives’ Meri Brown like Robyn Brown?
Meri went on to add that she thinks it’s “unfair” for Kody to compare his wives this way. “I’m going to be my own individual person,” she added. “I don’t want to be her.”
In addition, she continued, “If they’re great together, that’s awesome. I [just] think that’s really an unfair statement.”
Then Sukanya wondered, “In polygamy, can it be equal but different?”
I think that’s the problem right there. One woman is not the same as another. Sometimes you have chemistry in a relationship and sometimes you don’t. Suddenly Kody had a wife he had amazing chemistry with, which he’d never experienced before. It knocked him for a loop, but he couldn’t force that spark with his other wives. Nor did it seem he really wanted to.
Meri, who finally left Kody in 2022, believes that Kody never really accepted her as herself. In their 35 years together, he totally ignored her for the last “12 or 14 years — or maybe even more.”
