Being in the villa on Love Island USA means you don’t know much about what’s going on outside the villa. This is why, many of the islanders still inside didn’t know the details of Cierra Ortega’s exit from the show. Zak Srakaew shared what they were told when Cierra made her exit due to her former use of a racial slur.
The recently eliminated Casa Amor bombshell shed some light on what the remaining islanders were told about Cierra’s abrupt departure. Seems they were kept mostly in the dark. Everyone on the outside though knew why Cierra was removed from the villa.
Cierra was removed from Love Island USA, and producers stepped in, revealed Zak
On a TikTok Live, Zak revealed what happened in the villa after Cierra’s sudden exit.
“When Cierra left, the producers gathered us all together,” he shared. “And they said, ‘Unfortunately, Cierra has broken some of the policies of our guidelines. She’ll no longer be here in the villa. And that’s the only information we can give you guys.”
He added that the producers also mentioned they had people available to speak to if the islanders needed it. He explained that he and co-stars “didn’t really know what was going on.”
According to Zak, Nic Vansteenberghe, who had been coupled with Cierra, and went back to her post Casa Amor, took the news really hard.
“Nic was really upset that she left, but at the same time, he couldn’t be super upset or express how he feels about the situation until he found out what she’s done or what she’s said,” Zak said.
He shared that no matter how much you want to feel sorry for somebody, if you know they were removed for saying something offensive, you can’t really feel sorry for them. At least not without all the information.
Cierra isn’t the first to leave due to a racist remark. Earlier in the season Yulissa Escobar was also removed for using the N-word. Such a coincidence that this would happen twice in one season. Jeremiah shared that Cierra’s exit was “weird” and that he did not condone any type of racism.
Love Island USA continues every night except Wednesdays, exclusively on Peacock.
