Last year, Bravo star Julia Lemigova and her wife, tennis pro Martina Navratilova, adopted two young sons. Like many children awaiting foster care in our systems, these boys have been through a lot. Julia sees their trauma. And what she sees, she is now speaking out about, noting that she plans to do everything possible to create a comfortable new life for her lads.
Overall, the journey to parenthood (again) has been taxing for this Real Housewives of Miami star. Yet, her stressors are nothing compared to what her two sons have endured in their short lives.
Julia Lemigova got emotional discussing her two adopted sons

Julia has often spoken about her adoption desires on RHOM. Now, her boys are here. However, Julia is doing her best to protect their privacy. So, her details, while emotional, are brief.
While speaking with US Weekly, Julia explained that she cannot say a lot because she respects their privacy. But she next admitted that “certain things we learned during the journey with them — we had them for one year — it just breaks my heart, and I put my life on hold in a way — and Martina as well — but in a way that only they matter.” The adoption pathway has not been an easy one, Julia confessed. Nevertheless, “We are just blessed that we were able to give those two boys unconditional love and a different chance for their future,” she continued.
Now, Julia hopes to get through to her sons, “to get them to the point where they know they’ll never get taken away, and then they will have the stability, and the past is the past,” she said. “We always will respect it. You cannot erase it, but there are certain things that kids with trauma need to forget. It takes a lot of therapy. It’s not easy.”
Regardless, Julia finds this process well worth the pains, noting that “When I talk about it, I get emotional because it’s rewarding at the end when you see those kids finally.”
The Real Housewives of Miami airs on Wednesdays at 9/8c on Bravo. It streams on Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
