Season 7 of The Real Housewives of Miami has been featuring some heavy drama, caused by shifting friendships. Once close friends, like Guerdy Abraira and Julia Lemigova, are feuding. This particular feud seems negative and is casting a shadow over the season. However, when Dr. Nicole Martin popped by for a quick cameo, RHOM viewers were reminded of what they are missing.
Our favorite anesthesiologist scrubbed out of Season 7 for personal reasons. In 2023, Nicole’s father, Miguel Martin II, passed away suddenly. Meanwhile, her second child with her fiancé, Anthony Lopez, was born around six to seven weeks prematurely. They welcomed their precious daughter, Genevieve Nicole Lopez, in March 2024. They already share a son, Greyson Lopez.
After Genevieve’s birth, Nicole decided to step away from RHOM because she was suffering from postpartum anxiety. “Prioritizing my health and my family is something I need to do at this moment,” Nicole stated in September 2024. “It’s a step towards healing and finding balance, and I hope you can understand and support this choice.”
However, RHOM without Nicole has lost some of its sparkle. Here’s why RHOM Season 7 is suffering without Nicole.
Nicole Martin’s healthy net worth brought the rich to The Real Housewives of Miami
Nicole’s net worth is nothing to sneeze at. Not only does she work as an anesthesiologist, but she also earned money from her reality TV career. In addition, she partnered with the skincare brand Exoceuticals. Plus, she and Anthony often showcased their luxurious properties, including real estate investments. So, Nicole’s estimated net worth in 2024 was a robust $3 million.
When Nicole joined Guerdy for lunch in RHOM Season 7, she was carrying a Birkin bag worth $96,600. You go, girl! When Nicole was a full-time cast member during Seasons 4-6, viewers had a front-row seat to Anthony and Nicole’s luxe life. Anthony has his own private jet, and lent the Miami ladies his plane and pilot services during a Season 5 girls’ trip. Swanky!
Few of the RHOM cast members, outside of newbie Stephanie Shojaee, have this sort of wealth. And watching rich people enjoy their riches is part of the draw of Real Housewives. While Stephanie and her private jet have made some appearances, I still miss seeing Nicole and her lifestyle.
She works hard as an anesthesiologist and didn’t come from a privileged background. So, watching her enjoy lavish getaways with her family and designer clothing doesn’t feel obnoxious. It feels oddly satisfying.
RHOM introduced Nicole’s husband Anthony Lopez’s ex Stephanie Shojaee
When Nicole met up with Guerdy, they discussed Stephanie. And not just because Stephanie is the new girl on the squad. Most of Nicole’s curiosity stemmed from the fun fact that Stephanie dated Anthony. That’s right, two decades earlier, Dr. Nicole Martin’s soon-to-be-husband, Anthony, and Stephanie were an item. Naturally, Nicole was interested in this detail.
“Listen, there have to be some similarities if the same man liked us both. And let me tell you, Anthony is picky as f*ck,” Nicole told Guerdy. So, Guerdy decided to FaceTime Stephanie, and Nicole chatted with her. They hit it off right away.
However, the same cannot be said for Stephanie and Alexia Nepola. Earlier this season, RHOM viewers watched Stephanie verbally slam Lisa Hochstein for being two hours late. As for Alexia? Stephanie has been needling her about her estranged husband, Todd Nepola, behaving like a narcissist.
However, Nicole summed it up in a nice, tidy package. “There’s, like, that alpha competition, and if you don’t bend the knee, like, [Alexia] doesn’t do well,” Nicole told Guerdy. “And Stephanie doesn’t strike me as a knee-bender.”
No, she most certainly is not. This high-powered businesswoman is the President of Shoma Group and a real estate developer. She doesn’t suffer fools gladly, and she always speaks her mind. Seeing Stephanie hanging out with Nicole is a scene that we all deserve.
Nicole brought a neutral energy to Real Housewives of Miami
Nicole has a refreshing vibe and energy that is sadly missing from RHOM Season 7. She doesn’t have over-the-top, chaotic energy like Lisa and Larsa Pippen. She can be shady, but usually in an interesting way. For example, Nicole sending Larsa a mirror when she uninvited her to her engagement party was truly iconic.
However, Nicole has spoken out since the season wrapped, siding with Guerdy in her feud with Julia. Nicole popped up in the comments of a social media post, defending Guerdy. “This is the type of petty nonsense that makes being in this friend group too stressful,” Nicole wrote.
During her lunch with Guerdy, Nicole explained why she couldn’t understand the actions of some of the RHOM ladies. “I tell you if I think you said something out of line. With these girls, no,” Nicole explained. “They’re like horses with [blinders] on.” She lamented the lack of honesty in the friend group. It does seem like the RHOM cast is more about choosing sides and not taking accountability for their actions.
So, when Guerdy asked Nicole if she would be willing to return to RHOM, the good doctor simply replied, “TBD.” So, there may be hope that we will see more of Nicole, in some capacity, in future RHOM seasons.
