According to Lownie’s unreleased book, the fight between Prince Harry and Prince Andrew broke out after the latter commented on something behind the Duke of Sussex’s back. As per the extracts shared by The Independent and the Daily Mail, the author wrote, “Harry got the better of Andrew” in the alleged scuffle. The Duke of York’s offhand remark about his nephew ended up with Andrew’s “bloody nose” before others could intervene.
However, Harry’s representative refuted all allegations of violence. “Prince Harry and Prince Andrew have never had a physical fight,” the spokesperson stated to the Daily Telegraph. The denial was unequivocal, rejecting the book’s dramatic claims that Andrew ever made disparaging comments about the Duke of Sussex.
According to the Daily Mail’s exclusive report, “Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York” painted a wider picture of friction involving Prince Andrew and his nephews. The focus, however, particularly remained on Prince William and his brother, Harry. According to Lownie, the relationship between the Duke of York and his younger relatives has long been strained, including numerous arguments.
The author also claimed that one of the remarks included uncomfortable statements about the Princess of Wales, Catherine. Moreover, the book detailed William’s alleged frustration over Andrew’s continued occupancy of Royal Lodge, a Crown Estate property in Windsor.
Lownie pointed out that family tensions were common, further mentioning Harry’s report about his fight with William in his 2023 memoir, “Spare.” Even with such personal disclosures, Harry‘s spokesperson underlined that Andrew did not “ever make the comments he is alleged to have made about the Duchess of Sussex to Prince Harry,” denying all claims of a physical fight.
