Deckhand Kyle Stillie’s bad boy side came out to play this season on Below Deck.
We all knew something bad was coming when the mid-season trailer came out on July 14. We saw Kyle getting friendly with a married charter guest. Fans wondered if he was just putting in a little extra effort for the crew’s end-of-charter tip. Or was Kyle behaving inappropriately by acting as a “floatation device” for a drunk and topless guest?
After Kyle bragged to his crewmates that he “f*cked her in the sea,” Chief Stew Fraser Olender worried that he should notify the captain about Kyle’s inappropriate behavior at the beach picnic. Not only was he concerned that Kyle could get fired, but Fraser could lose his own job for withholding the information from the captain.
Did Kyle Stillie sleep with a charter guest on Below Deck?
Fraser and Kyle were both guests on Watch What Happens Live following the episode. Host Andy Cohen asked Fraser, “Is it your belief that young Kyle did ‘stick it in’ a little bit with Helen?”
“I don’t actually know,” he admitted, glancing at Kyle. “We discussed this today. I don’t know. I’m gonna go with ‘no,’ though.”
When Andy asked Kyle “how nervous” he was when he knew he had to talk to Captain Kerry Titheradge, Kyle confessed, “It was the worst. The absolute worst. That was a rough conversation.”
Fraser had told deckhand Damo Yorg, “I love [Kyle] … [I] don’t want to see him going anywhere, but to be bragging about [having sex with a charter guest] is really reckless.”
Fortunately, Damo encourage Kyle to go to the captain and confess. But the next day Kyle changed his story and said, “Nothing happened.” He was just “taking the piss” (British slang for “messing or joking around”).
Finally Kyle went to Kerry and confessed that he was inappropriate with one of the guests. “Nothing did happen,” he maintained, “but I’ve maybe said things that suggest something did happen … I said I ‘might have slipped it in.’ I genuinely didn’t, but I definitely have said that.”
Of course, Kerry is disappointed and angry, but he has to complete an investigation into the matter to determine any consequences. In the end, there’s no proof that anything happened, none of the crew believed it did, and Kyle denied it. So Kyle got off with a stern warning.
Below Deck airs Mondays at 8/7c on Bravo in the US and streams on Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
