No one likes bad service – especially R&B legends, it would seem. Tamika Scott took to Instagram on 17 August to highlight a bad experience she’d had while out for dinner. However, rather than end things on a bad note, the singer had a thoughtful surprise for the server that turned her night around.

Tamika and her daughter – Young Niyah – headed to the The Juicy Crab in Buford, Ga a few nights ago. Far from receiving a warm welcome, the Xscape member alleges that four waitresses immediately turned their backs on the pair. Another server eventually came to help, at which point the others began whispering while looking in their direction, according to Tamika.
With her evening back on track, the multi-millionaire singer explained in the Instagram video that she was going to “bless” the waitress for her kindness. She can then be seen counting out a stack of bills. After her meal, she gifted the server the tip – totaling $700 – declaring it “a small token of love”. The server was visibly delighted, “Are you guys sure?” she asked, “Thank you guys so much! I genuinely appreciate that. Y’all just made my night.”
The musician’s good deed was applauded on Instagram, although a few less impressed followers pointed out that she had arrived just 30 minutes before closing. Still, no one can argue that it was a nice thing to do. The musician added a heartfelt caption to her post: “I don’t look for special privileges. I believe EVERYONE should be treated fairly, no matter of their color, sex or financial status!! You never know what a person is going through. Be kind and never turn your back on anyone!”. And if anyone should know kindness, it’s Tamika – she is reported to be an ordained minister.
