Once again, Monica Garcia has people talking. This time, it’s not about a secret troll account. Instead, it’s about her age gap relationship.
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City alum recently shared a video joking about the fact that her daughter’s boyfriend was “the same age” as her own boyfriend/baby’s father, Braxton Knight. At first glance, that sounds a little strange, which plenty of fans pointed out. Monica, however, doesn’t see anything wrong with it.
Monica Garcia wants the haters to “stay mad”
The RHOSLC alum took to Instagram to hit back at the “haters’ calling her out for her age gap relationship. Although her original video made it sound like her man and her daughter’s boyfriend were the same age, it turns out that’s not really the case.
Monica is 42, and her boyfriend is 31. Monica’s daughter is 20, and her daughter’s boyfriend is 23. These aren’t wild age gaps, and Monica pointed that out on Instagram this week after spending days defending herself in the comments.
“Eva Mendes, 51, and Ryan Gosling, 44. Kris Jenner, 69, and Corey Gamble, 44. Heidi Klum, 52, and Tom Kaulitz, 35. Sarah Paulson, 50, and Holland Taylor, 82. Just to name a few …,” Monica wrote on IG.
“He’s 10 yrs younger than me and I bet we’re happier than most of you miserable a$$ haters in your close age relationships,” she continued. “GAWDAMN. Stay mad?.”
Plenty of fans poured into the comments showing support for Monica. The added context that her baby’s father and her daughter’s boyfriend aren’t actually the same age changes a lot.
Monica and Braxton went public with their relationship earlier this year after announcing a surprise pregnancy. According to Monica, the two had been quietly dating for about a year prior to getting knocked up. They welcomed their first child (and Monica’s fifth) in April 2025, and it seems like they’re living happily ever after.
