Long time, no Below Deck Mediterranean seas, fellow land dwellers! The last time we saw this merry yacht of misfits was during the Season 9 finale. One year later, the newly married Captain Sandy is ready to rejoin her former crew members, Aesha, Nathan, and Max for Season 10. This season, Aesha will continue to lead in the interior. Meanwhile, Nathan is returning as the Bosun. But, as always, nothing is ever easy, as evidenced on Below Deck Mediterranean Season 10 Episode 1, “A Sea of New Beginnings.”
What happened in Below Deck Mediterranean Season 10 Episode 1?

Aesha is engaged, so she is all about making that tip money. Likewise, Nathan is eager to shine this season. As is Max, who experienced a struggle or two during his last appearance in Season 8. Introducing Chef Josh, stewards Kizzi and Victoria, and deckhands Christian and Tessa, this season is off to a promising start. Until, that is, troubles start to form within the deck team.
The new crew makes its way to Barcelona

Season 10 kicks off with a word from the future. As Nathan narrates, “I thought that I was going to come on as a first-time Bosun and kill it. Boy, was I wrong.” However, his struggles were well worth it, he explains, as the cameras pan to show a pregnant belly, which we already know belongs to his Season 9 crush, Gael Cameron.
The screen flashes back nine months, showing the start of filming on Below Deck Season 10. The crew is making their way to the yacht. Christian has already scored a random phone number. On her plane, Victoria reveals that this will be her first job on a superyacht.
Already present, Captain Sandy motors the gorgeous superyacht Bravado into its slip in Barcelona. Aesha joins her first. She is engaged, she reveals. Josh arrives next. “He’s gonna be great,” Captain Sandy whispers.
Kizzi appears, and Josh likes what he sees. Next comes a “new version” of Max, who notes that hypnotherapy recently changed his life, and also, Oui Oui, Kizzi is hot. Tessa, however, shoots Captain Sandy a text, explaining that she caught a horrible case of food poisoning at her hotel. She will now join the boat tomorrow.
Victoria boards, calling herself V, which we will now as well. Aesha meets with her girls, placing Kizzi as her second and V as her third. However, Aesha rhymes, she feels “a bit worried about V, because it rhymes with Bri [Muller]” from last season. Then, Christian enters, revealing that he is also a pilot.
Finally, Nathan calls, announcing that he also has food poisoning. Until he can arrive, Max is in charge, Captain Sandy decides. Additionally, the boat cannot legally leave the dock two deckies down, so she is now worried, she admits.
Nathan and Tessa finally arrive

Captain Sandy lays down the law in her first meeting. Max loves his temporary Bosun role. But Aesha is beyond excited for Nathan to join, she squeals. The teams get to work, readying for their first charter.
V reveals that her boyfriend recently passed away. He was her diving instructor, but he tragically drowned, she explains. Kizzi is smiling, but as she explains, she gets uncomfortable with dark conversations. She is also British, Aesha notes, as the girls bond over their similar appreciations for dark humor.
Kizzi loves decorating. That will now be her job, Aesha decides. Outside, Max is killing it, which Captain Sandy notices. However, in his talking head, Christian quips that Max thinks he is a boss, but they are both “freakin deckhands.”
In the morning, Nathan arrives, followed by Tessa. Tessa could have come yesterday, but the thought of “sh*tting myself on the deck” made her not, she jokes.
The deck team is the (current) weakest link

Aesha and Nathan hold separate preference sheet meetings. This season, they are using individual iPads, preloaded with information.
The guests board. Captain Sandy and Nathan take the yacht off the dock, but Tessa struggles to bring the ramp in. Nathan tells her to ask an engineer, but Tessa does so over the radio, earning herself a light scolding from Nathan. “This team’s not capable of giving 100 percent,” he sighs.
Aesha and Nathan catch up. He and Gael are friends only now, he explains. “The distance was an issue,” he adds.
The deck team starts setting out the water toys while the guests eat a “perfect” lunch. Nathan wants to get the jet skis in the water, but Christian and Tessa are struggling with the nautibuoys. Overhearing, Max jokes that Nathan needs to lead using his strategy, which involves guillotines. Nearby, Christian and Tessa complain that Nathan gave them an order without teaching them how to fulfill it.
Josh and Kizzi lightly flirt again. Kizzi loves “playing with” boys. She texts three red hearts to someone named Tommy.
Tonight’s dinner theme is Bitcoin Extravaganza. Josh is also a clown, and he might have items in his wardrobe, he states.
Outside, a ski floats away. Max jumps in the water, where Nathan is already on the scene. “Hey, go back,” Nathan yells.
The Chief Engineer assists Nathan and Captain Sandy with the skis. Nathan struggles with the controls, and one crashes into a light. “We’ve gotta talk about this,” Captain Sandy says, meanmugging Nathan.
Below Deck Mediterranean continues Mondays at 8/7c on Bravo. It streams on Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
