Real Housewives of Orange County star Katie Ginella may or may not return next season. And it doesn’t help her case to stay when she has no allies left. During Season 19, Shannon Beador shut Katie out for filming her without her consent. Then Katie denied telling a blogger that Gretchen Rossi allegedly said she went to the hospital after “naked wasted” and thought she was “roofied.” A lie detector test determined Katie wasn’t truthful, and the group turned against her. This series of events is leaving Katie’s future on the show in the air.
Will Katie Ginella return for RHOC Season 20?
Katie has had one heck of a ride so far in Season 19. The most surprising thing was losing her friendship with Jennifer Pedranti. The two were thick as thieves, but Jennifer sided with Gretchen over the whole going to the hospital debacle.
Losing her only ally was not good for Katie’s prospects of returning for Season 20. However, it’s not all doom and gloom. OK! reported a supposed insider gave some tea on several scenarios that could happen regarding Katie’s possible return next season.
They said that Katie has a “huge, loud fanbase online.” Which is always an influencing factor. The insider added, “They could bring Vicki Gunvalson back, who Katie gets along with, and Tamra [Judge] has said deserves a spot on the show. And then they could possibly add one more of Katie’s friends to the mix.”
However, producers might decide not to bring Katie back as well. The source dished they might not renew Katie’s contract “due to her issues with the cast.” But this could backfire.
They stated, “The problem is … they’d then have to start turning on each other again … and, as it stands, they made a storyline out of turning on Katie, so that wouldn’t really make much sense that they suddenly turned on each other.”
The insider also dished that the reunion “will play a big role” in deciding Katie’s fate. It will be interesting to see what the producers choose to do. But I think we’ll see Katie around next season, whether the cast likes it or not.
