Time is running out for Steve McBee Sr. as he waits to hear his fate in his pesky federal case. In the meantime, he’s trying to make every moment count. Over the weekend, the patriarch of The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys shared a sentimental birthday post for Steven McBee Jr. This could very well be the last birthday they spend together before things get complicated. You’ve got to appreciate a man with different levels. He’s a fraudster and a doting dad all at the same time.
Steven McBee Sr. is facing a prison sentence in October
Last year, Steve pleaded guilty to a multimillion-dollar insurance fraud scheme. He faces 30 years in prison, but his sentencing has been delayed multiple times. The latest setback moved the date from September 9 to October 16, 2025. That delay earned him some extra time with the family, and he got to celebrate Steven’s birthday on September 21. On Instagram, he shared a super emotional post, reflecting on how fatherhood changed him.
“When a man first holds his newborn child, an overwhelming rush of love, awe, protectiveness, & pride that he had never felt or knew he had overcomes him,” Steve began.
“In that very moment, his entire life transforms that it is no longer about himself. It is about providing, loving, teaching, training, protecting and disciplining that child so that they are a better version of a person than he was himself,” the McBee patriarch continued.
Of course, there are a million levels of irony in this post. As we saw in Season 1 of the show, Steve gave the reins to the family business to Steven Jr, unloading a burden of financial trouble onto his son. But, according to Steve, everything he does is for his family. He probably had them in mind when he was submitting all of the false insurance claims.
“A lifelong bond & love is formed that can endure the worst of times and never be broken,’ Steve continued in his birthday post. “And in the end, if that father did his job, his children will feel the same when they look at their newborn child.”
Underneath the post, plenty of McBee fans joined in wishing Steven a happy birthday. A lot of folks seemed impressed with Steve’s sentimental post. The birthday boy himself slid into the comments to thank his dad for the sweet message. He wrote, “Thanks Dad love you too.”
