Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Bronwyn Newport just tried her hand at being a drag queen for a day! It’s no secret how much the RHOSLC cast member loves drag. She often highlights her love of drag queens on her social media. She also partnered with drag queens for Drag Out the Vote, which promotes voter registration. It’s one of the charitable causes Bronwyn uses her platform to champion.
Bronwyn also dresses larger than life in her day to day. In fact, she seemed to reference one of her most talked about RHOSLC outfits once she got into full drag. But did Bronwyn slay, or would she be asked to sashay away on RuPaul’s Drag Race?
Bronwyn Newport spent three hours in the makeup chair
Bronwyn’s full drag transformation was done by Salt Lake City drag queen Sequoia. “It was an absolute honor to give drag birth to everyone’s favorite fashion diva,” Sequoia captioned the video. But no one said getting full drag glam was easy! For her transformation, Bronwyn spent about three hours in the makeup chair. She told Sequoia it was definitely the most makeup she’d ever worn. For her drag debut, Bronwyn rocked a pink gown with matching gloves that had adorable change purse details. And a custom wig courtesy of one of Sequoia’s friends, who created it in less than a day!
As for her drag name, Bronwyn chose Glizzy VonBratwurst. Perhaps a reference to the infamous hot dog dress? In the TikTok, Sequoia called Bronwyn “the hot dog queen of Salt Lake City and the world,” adding, “no one can ketchup to her fashion … so you better relish in all of this beauty!”
At the end of the TikTok, Sequoia asked their followers which RHOSLC star should get a drag makeover next. In the comments, drag queen Dominique Topp suggested Whitney Rose. Like Bronwyn, Whitney is open about her love of drag. Don’t forget, Whitney counts drag superstar Trixie Mattel as a close personal friend!
