Prince William Chats with Eugene Levy and Admits 2024 Was His ‘Hardest Year’ Yet

The heir to the British throne has been through some tumultuous times of late.

Prince William took time out of his busy life to talk with actor Eugene Levy in an episode of his show The Reluctant Traveller. The Prince got candid about what life has been like for him in recent times. “I’d say ‘23-’24 was the hardest year I’ve ever had,” William admitted. Last year William’s father, King Charles, was diagnosed with cancer, along with his wife, Kate Middleton.

Navigating through all of that has been a challenge.

Adversity creates stronger people, and that’s something Prince William and his family have experienced plenty of.

“You know, life is sent to test us and being able to overcome that is what makes us who we are, the Prince told Eugene Levy during his appearance on The Reluctant Traveller. The two were sharing a pint at a local pub in the U.K. at the time.

William says having two of his loved ones go through cancer treatments has been rought but says he’s got so much admiration for how brave his wife and father have been throughout it all. William and Kate have two sons, George and Louis, plus a daughter, Charlotte.

Charles went to the hospital in March after experiencing temporary side effects from his cancer treatment. He’s since resumed his royal duties. The Princess of Wales returned to her duties in July. In January, after going through chemotherapy treatment, Kate announced that her cancer was currently in remission.

The royal episode of The Reluctant Traveller comes out on Apple TV+ on October 3.
