Last night, fans met Victoria SanJuan, otherwise known as “V,” during the premiere episode of Below Deck Mediterranean Season 10. As Episode 1 progressed, we learned that V had a sad story lurking rawly underneath her surface. In 2023, one year before filming started on this series, her boyfriend lost his life in a drowning accident. Now, V is opening up about this dark pit in her life, which she is still trying to pull herself out of.
Victoria SanJuan has gone back to diving after her boyfriend’s tragic death
During BDM Season 10 Episode 1, V revealed, “Technically, I am single. But [my story] is very tragic. Eleven months — on my birthday — my boyfriend passed away.” Her then-boyfriend “drowned,” which was “such a mystery” to V, since he was a strong swimmer who spent his days working as a dive instructor.
“We did everything together. It was beautiful. Losing someone I love so much, your heart physically hurts. The first two months I was, like, brain dead,” the new Bravo stew recalled, noting that she had tried to return to scuba diving, “But I just couldn’t do it.”
Following the airing of this episode, V appeared on Watch What Happens Live. Host Andy Cohen asked, “Have you been able to scuba dive yet?” Nodding her head yes, V answered, “Yeah. I got back into it, for sure.”
As V elaborated, she is still “feeling out my single girl era, and like, going back to my hobbies that we used to have together.” When Andy expressed his surprise, V explained that “The ocean was my first love. Bon was my second. So I wanted to go back to what brought us together.”
As Andy realized, her choice to return will likely bring her closer to Bon. “Definitely,” V agreed. To you, V, our heart goes out.
Below Deck Mediterranean continues Mondays at 8/7c on Bravo. It streams on Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
