For Season 34, pro Mark Ballas is already shining in the ballroom. Mark and his Dancing with the Stars partner, reality star Whitney Leavitt, have topped, or tied, for the top spot on the leaderboard every week. Pretty impressive!
The duo’s Disney Night foxtrot flipped the script by infusing their routine with Broadway and jazz vibes. Since they danced to The Room Where It Happens from Hamilton, it seems fitting. “Look, there’s traditional foxtrot and then there’s Mark’s foxtrot,” judge Carrie Ann Inaba stated. However, now Mark has another goal in mind besides winning the Mirrorball.
Are Mark Ballas and his wife ready for baby number two?
That’s right – Mark has babies on the brain. In November 2023, Mark and his wife, BC Jean, welcomed their first child, son Banksi Wylde Ballas. During Episode 4 of DWTS, Mark and The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star met up with her family at Disneyland.
“I love being here with Whitney and her family,” Mark said to the DWTS cameras. “I’m having so much fun with the kids and Conner [Leavitt]. It makes me miss my son. Might need to have No. two, know what I’m saying?” Oh, we know.
However, when Mark was asked later about his wife’s reaction, it sounded like a hilarious interaction. “I looked at my wife and she was like, ‘[Uhhh].’ We’re talking about it,” Mark told US Weekly. “We’ll get there.”
The fact that Mark is competing in Season 34 was a surprise. He returned to DWTS for Season 31 after a five-year hiatus, winning the Mirrorball with Charli D’Amelio. However, during the last stop on the DWTS tour, he announced his retirement.
Now he’s back to show Banksi his love of dance. “I just am excited for my son to see me do this. So, yeah, I was like, ‘I got another one or two in the tank. Let’s give it a go,’” Mark previously said.
Dancing with the Stars airs on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on ABC and Disney+. It will stream on Hulu the next day.
