In a world full of out of touch celebs, it’s always refreshing when a Hollywood star shows a bit of self-awareness. Sarah Jessica Parker may be TV royalty, but she seemingly still appreciates how lucky she is.

The Sex and the City star recently spoke to Hello mag about managing her work and home life. She said in the October issue: “I feel peculiar and uncomfortable talking about balance. I just don’t think it’s something I should comment on, out of respect for working parents.”

The actress points out that her experience is pretty far removed from most moms’. She explained: “In my country, as well as in France and the UK and most of western Europe — and, frankly, the whole world — there are working mothers holding down two to three jobs with no support in terms of community and childcare, never mind the kind of healthcare that they need and deserve. So, I don’t really want to hear from me about how I balance being a working mother with having a professional life.”

Sarah has been married to fellow actor Matthew Broderick for 28 years. The couple have three kids together – son James and twin daughters Marion and Tabitha.

The actress did open up about spending time away from home, though. She said: “You’re missing things sometimes and it can feel pretty lousy, and sometimes it makes perfect sense and it’s all right and your child is fine. Generally speaking, even that is a choice. I am choosing to be a working person.”
