The birthday festivities in Mexico continued. Jesse told Kristen about Luke’s concerns about marrying her. And Janet revealed an emotional secret to Lala. It was another dramatic episode, as Season 3 hurtles towards what could be a chaotic reunion.

The morning after Zack’s birthday extravaganza, it was Danny’s birthday. The group planned to go on a boat. What could go wrong?

However, Janet decided to skip the activity. “I barely survived the last time I was on a boat with these people. Kristen almost threw me overboard,” Janet said in her talking head. She was referencing Season 2’s trip to Hawaii. So, Lala decided to stay with Janet, and Brittany stayed at the hotel to rest.

Finally, the group boarded a catamaran for Danny’s Miami Vice party. Most of the group missed the memo about the theme, and Luke didn’t even know it was a TV show. Plus, it was Nia and Danny’s anniversary, so everyone was ready to party.

On the boat, Zack asked Jasmine about the text that Janet sent to Brittany. In it, Janet revealed that Kristen called out Jasmine, Zack, and Brittany for drinking too much. Both Jasmine and Zack agreed that Kristen probably used them as an example. “I really hope Kristen didn’t say that, because that’s weird,” Zack said.

Back at the resort, Lala and Janet relaxed by the pool. Janet mentioned how Nia previously stated that the negative headlines about her husband were Janet’s fault. “There’s a lot of moments where I feel like I have to step away because when I was in school, I had a situation happen with another boy … put his hands on me,” Janet said. “And I just pretended like it was some sort of like consensual hookup. In reality, it was not,” a tearful Janet told Lala.

“Afterwards … all the blame was on me. I messed up. I was a whore. He didn’t have to go through any of the pain and trauma,” she continued.

“I didn’t even really realize what this was until a year ago,” Janet said in her talking head. “There was a therapist who said to me, ‘This is sexual assault.’ I just froze and let this thing happen to me.”

Janet told Lala that she was in therapy and was discussing “how it relates to being around Danny. This Danny situation, I can’t apologize to that man.” However, she realized that she “definitely brought my own experience into that situation” when Jasmine told her about Danny drunkenly touching her. Lala, who was also crying, hugged her friend.

Jesse betrays Luke’s trust in The Valley

Finally, the boat pulled up to a beach. While Luke was fishing, Jesse pulled Kristen aside. He told her that he was “worried” because of some recent comments that Luke made. “He literally said to me, ‘If things keep going this way, I don’t see a wedding happening,’” Jesse said. “That’s how hurt he is.”

A shocked Kristen replied, “That’s f*cked up.” She added that these issues are “temporary.” She continued, “I’m doing everything I can on my end with my psychiatrist, my therapist, my mom friends.”

In her confessional, Kristen admitted, “One of my worst fears is being left … being abandoned. And now Jesse is kind of confirming that for me.” Later, as the boat headed back, Kristen confronted her fiancé. “Is that how you feel?” she asked. “The question I’m asking is, do you want to get married to me still?” Kristen asked.

“At the moment, if you want to get married tomorrow, I’d say no. We need to work through things,” Luke responded. Then Kristen questioned why he gave her an engagement ring. “I love you, and I do eventually want to get married,” he explained.

The tense discussion continued in their suite. “There are times I feel you really don’t like me,” Luke stated. “I don’t know how to get through to you about things that bother me,” Kristen calmly replied. When Luke responded that Kristen doesn’t acknowledge his feelings, she told her fiancé, “Your feelings matter very much.” Luke clarified that he told Jesse, “‘I don’t know if it’s going to happen.’” He added, “I love you. I’m not going anywhere.”

Michelle gives Danny some unwanted advice

For their last dinner in Mexico, Schwartz wore a bandage around his head in solidarity with Zack. Meanwhile, Danny chatted with Michelle and mentioned that he heard that he “made her feel uncomfortable.” Michelle explained that she was speaking for other people in the group. She told Danny that some people “feel that once you drink too much, you are a certain way.” She added, “If I were you, I would just not drink.”

He responded, “A hundred percent. That’s what I’ve been doing.” Not exactly. “She has never come to me and apologized,” Danny said, referencing Janet. Here we go again!

“She doesn’t want to be blamed for what you actually did, but she’s sorry about everything else,” Michelle stated. When Danny said that no one talked about Jesse’s drinking, Michelle replied, “He never did what you did.” Afterwards, Michelle found Janet and Lala and urged Janet to apologize to Danny. Janet alluded to something in the past that caused her “to have such a wall up” with the actor.

Meanwhile, when Zack asked Nia about her comments about his drinking, Nia downplayed it. She claimed that she only agreed with Kristen. Then she placed the blame on Janet. “This is her MO,” Nia said in her confessional. “Why does nobody see it?”

Another birthday fiasco in The Valley

Then it was Brittany’s turn to confront Kristen and Nia. “Using Janet as a scapegoat every single time is just not okay,” Brittany said in her talking head. “Why is the b*tch texting you to begin with to try and start a fight?” Kristen exclaimed. “She twists things with a little bit of truth,” Nia added.

Then, Janet and Michelle approached. “You are a piece of work, man!” Kristen yelled. When Janet tried to explain herself, Kristen imitated her. So, Janet walked away.

Elsewhere, Danny was spouting off about his conversation with Michelle. Lala heard him and pointed out that sometimes when Danny drinks, he is fun. Other times, he acted inappropriately.

Then Nia appeared. She told Danny to ignore Lala, and they left the table. While Nia and Danny were talking, she told him to focus on her, not what Lala was saying. “Chill, dude. Do not talk to me in a way that is going to heighten me,” he told Nia.

While Nia requested that Danny drink water and go to bed early, instead, he headed to the bar. Danny grabbed a drink as Lala approached for round two.

When Lala called Danny out for walking away during their conversations, Nia stepped in. “I did not like how things were getting elevated,” she responded. “I think you get nervous about what he’s going to say,” Lala stated.

When Lala tried to talk to Danny, Nia said, “Talk to me.” After arguing loudly, Lala walked away as Danny called her “psychotic.” As Nia urged her husband to leave, she told him that their friends were “terrible people.” Obviously, she was talking about Lala and Janet. When Danny refused to leave, Nia stormed off. “F*ck this!” she said.

Kristen and Luke followed her. “Why does he want to be around any of those terrible humans?” Nia remarked. “I feel very out of control and I fr*cking hate it,” she said as Kristen stroked her hair.

Meanwhile, Jasmine shared her thoughts about Danny’s behavior in her talking head. “We do not like when you get inappropriate. And I’m not talking about touching. I’m talking about … your language,” Jasmine said.

Elsewhere, Janet shared why, last season, when Danny closed the door to the pantry, it made her uncomfortable. “Maybe he’s just getting a snack,” Janet told Jesse. “Maybe something weird’s about to happen, because something weird did happen with him and my friends.” Janet added, “Most women have had some sort of experience that has made them uncomfortable around men.”

As a frustrated Nia headed up to their room to shower, Danny returned to the bar alone for another drink. “Best birthday ever!” he exclaimed.
