Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were all dolled up for the red carpet on Thursday. The pair attended the Project Healthy Minds annual gala in New York City, where they bagged an award. During their acceptance speech, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex opened up about their worries around raising their kids.

Harry and Meghan accepted the Humanitarians of the Year award at the event on October 9. The couple were honored for their “commitment to mental health support and building a safer, more equitable digital world for today’s youth and families.”
Taking the stage, the Sussexes shared that their young children inspire their advocacy. Meghan said: “Our children, Archie and Lilibet, are just 6 and 4 years old. Can you believe it? Luckily, they’re still too young for social media, but we know that day is coming. Like so many parents, we think constantly about how to embrace technology’s benefits while safeguarding against its dangers. And that hopeful intention of separation is rapidly becoming impossible.”
The couple also spoke about the new initiative from their Archewell Foundation. The Parents Network helps parents and families who’ve been affected by online and social media harm.
Harry explained: “We knew this movement needed to grow. These families are not only up against corporations and lobbyists, many of whom spend tens of millions of dollars every year in suppressing the truth, but also algorithms designed to maximize data collection at any cost.”
While the Duke and Duchess were clearly pleased to be given the award, not everyone shared their delight. A royal expert recently slammed the decision. But it seems as though Meghan and Harry breathing in the wrong direction would gain a royal lashing at this point.
Harry and Meghan waked the red carpet prior to the event. They kept their ‘fits fairly understated, both opting for black suits.
