It’s no secret that Lily Allen has had a tough time recently. The singer and actress has been open about her struggles following her split from David Harbour. In a recent interview, she opened up about just how bad things got – as well as a few other candid revelations.
Lily Allen has delved into her mental state after splitting from David Harbour
Lily is back with a new album out later this month. But the past year has been hard for the singer. Her five-year marriage to Stranger Things star David came to an end amid rumors of infidelity (on his part).
In a new interview with British Vogue, Lily said she has been in “some very, very bleak places.” She revealed that the heartbreak caused her to struggle with disordered eating and she also almost relapsed after being sober for six years.
She said: “The feelings of despair that I was experiencing were so strong. The last time that I felt anything like that, drugs and alcohol were my way out, so it was excruciating to sit with those and not use them.”
She revealed that at that time she felt like she “wanted to die.” Thankfully, after checking herself in to a treatment facility, she started to feel better. “I’ve come a long way,” she notes.
Lily made plenty of more lighthearted revelations during the interview. After showing the interviewer her new boobs, she explained she’d had them done by the same doctor that did Kris Jenner’s recent facelift. She also said she doesn’t have access to her social media as she gave control of her passwords to her assistant.
Lily’s new album, West End Girl, is due for release on October 24. It will be her fifth record, and her first in seven years.
