After facing up to 30 years in prison, Steve McBee Sr. just got off relatively easy in his insurance fraud case. Federal prosecutors accused him of scheming his way into millions of dollars in crop insurance subsidies. He pleaded guilty and wound up getting two years behind bars and having to pay restitution. Not too bad, right?
As cameras roll on Season 3 of The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys, Steve has been active on social media, documenting his last few days of freedom. He’s spending quality time with his dogs and making the best of a messy situation.
Steve McBee Sr. was sentenced to two years in prison
Shortly after receiving the sentence, Steve began posting quotes from Theodore Roosevelt on Instagram and sharing bible scriptures. Bravo’s The Daily Dish grabbed a screenshot of one Instagram Story this weekend, where he referenced Romans 8:28.
“And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose,” Steve quoted, over a picture of his two dogs.
Apparently, the McBee patriarch received an outpouring of support from fans throughout the ordeal. He addressed the “number of messages” he received leading up to the sentence in another Instagram Story. He said he felt “lucky” to have so many “high character young people” in his life, per a report from People.
Steve said, “I count my blessings every day for my family and the support they give me and for my extended family that continues to grow each and every day. This too shall pass.”
Steve has to surrender to prison no later than December 1. Until then, he’s attending to business as usual in Gallatin, Missouri. He’s shared videos of himself talking to his horses and wandering around the family’s sprawling property.
“Beautiful chilly fall evening in North Missouri,” Steve Sr wrote in a peaceful post this weekend, showing him walking around his property with his dogs.
The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys is streaming on Peacock.
