A pair of infamous brothers are lashing out at a Superior Court Judge over a recent ruling.
Lyle Menendez ripped into the decision made by Judge William Ryan, who said a new trial for him and his brother, Erik Menendez didn’t need to be revisited.
The brothers were convicted of shooting and killing their father, José, and mother, Kitty, on August 20th, 1989. The pair have always insisted they committed the murders out of fear for their lives after years of alleged child abuse, particularly sexual abuse at the hands of José.
A second trial for the two convicts took place shortly after the original, which ended in a hung jury. The brothers were sentenced to life in prison without parole in 1996.
Lyle Menendez accused Superior Court Judge William Ryan of “mental gymnastics”

A third trial for the Menendez brothers won’t be happening, and the convicted murderers are none too pleased. Lyle called this ruling “frustrating.” RadarOnline reports that Lyle thinks the judge deserves “a gold medal in the mental gymnastics category.”
Two years ago, there seemed to be a glimmer of hope that the brother could one day walk free. In 2023, singer Roy Roselló accused José, a record producer, of raping him at the age of 14. The Menendez boys used this, and a note Erik penned to a cousin in the late 80s as proof of their late father’s monstrous ways.
District Attorney Nathan Hochman persuaded Judge Ryan, though, that those two pieces of evidence wouldn’t change the convictions.
In October of last year, Reza Farahan and Mercedes Javid from the show Shahs of Sunset revealed they went to school with the Menedez brothers.
There was a small bit of good news for the two in May of this year when their sentences were reduced to 50 years to life. The parole board, however, denied them early release.
They’ll be eligible for parole again in 2028.
