Drake’s ‘Curse’ Blamed for Blue Jays’ World Series Loss

Fans believe Drake’s “curse” is to blame after the Toronto Blue Jays lost the World Series. The rapper shared an Instagram post with the caption, “Congrats to the Jays for a dream season and a legendary World Series fight!!! S**t got so sticky I had to take a break from Stake and get some air…”

Fans call out Drake after Blue Jays’ defeat in World Series

Fans blame Drake’s “curse” after the Blue Jays’ defeat against the LA Dodgers in the recently concluded World Series. The Hotline Bling rapper shared a video of himself watching the game. He posted a heartfelt caption cheering on the Blue Jays, but fans weren’t buying it.

One fan wrote, “Drake curse activated is serious.” A second fan cheekily commented, “The Drake curse lives on, thank you! -Sincerely, Dodger Fans.” A third fan penned, “If you cared about the Jays, you would’ve stayed away lol.” Finally, a fan stated, “You curse every team, bro.”

LA Dodgers defeated the Toronto Blue Jays 5-4 on Saturday, November 1. Drake, who was in attendance at Toronto’s Rogers Centre, was instantly blamed by fans for activating his “curse.” Fans on X even compared the Dodgers’ win over the Blue Jays to Kendrick Lamar’s win over Drake. (via Complex).

Not just that, Fox Sports also joined in trolling Drake over his alleged long-standing feud with Kendrick Lamar. In the photoshopped image, Lamar drives away happily as the “Passionfruit” rapper looks on sadly. Fox Sports captioned the image, “DAMN.”

For those unversed, fans on the internet believe that if Drake’s name is attached to any athlete or team, they are bound to lose. Previously, the God’s Plan hitmaker mocked Dodgers ace Shohei Ohtani after the Blue Jays won 5-0 against the Dodgers. Drake wrote, “Savage already, bracket on the way to the dugout, boss lol.” (via Toronto Sun).

In response, Ohtani uploaded an Instagram carousel from the Dodgers’ victory lap and soundtracked it with Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us.” The song is a direct diss at Drake. The rapper has not commented on the “curse” allegations at the time of writing the article.
