According to People, the Duchess of Sussex is playing herself in the film, which follows the story of two couples. The source added that “Meghan was on the set,” confirming that her role in the movie is relatively small. Reportedly, the Duchess appeared “very relaxed and happy,” describing her as “sweet and down-to-earth” while interacting with the cast and crew.
Meanwhile, a studio insider described Meghan’s appearance as a “massive moment” marking her return to acting. According to the source, it is “her way of gently getting her toes back into the water”.
The upcoming movie features a star-studded cast including Lily Collins, Brie Larson, Jack Quaid, and Henry Golding. The movie, directed by Jason Orley, who is known for “Big Time Adolescence”, was first announced in August. Filming began in London in September before moving to California, where production continues.
Meghan, who rose to fame on the hit series “Suits”, retired from acting in 2017 following her engagement to Prince Harry. The couple married in 2018 and relocated to Santa Barbara in 2020 after stepping back from royal duties. They currently reside there with their two children, Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4.
